Typing...But Never Sent

You had so much to say.

But you didn’t send it.

Because what if it made you seem clingy? Or too emotional?

What if it made things weird?

What if they left?

So you typed…

“I miss you.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Did you ever care?”

And then —

backspace.

You sat there, staring at your screen. Watching the chat box.

Watching “online” turn to “last seen.”

Watching yourself talk to someone — silently — over and over again in your head.

You wanted to say how much it hurt.

How much you overthink every little thing they didn’t say.

How you still remember stuff they probably forgot.

But you didn’t.

Because you were scared.

Because feelings feel risky.

Because what if they just left you on read?

So instead of sending that message, you closed the app.

Pretended it didn’t matter.

Posted something chill.

Laughed at memes.

All while carrying around everything you never said.

And that’s the hardest part —

Knowing you felt so much

but said nothing.

typing...but never sent.

That’s how we love now. Quietly. Carefully. Scared.
